Last Friday, Bill Gates announced that Microsoft’s newest operating system, “Windows 7″ is being pushed way ahead of it’s original 2010 release date. We’ve been getting some mixed messages from Bill and Microsoft in general in the last few years… Microsoft failed to mention whether the next-year release will be the full version of the operating system or a beta test.

I have mixed feelings about this announcement. In my opinion, I would rather like to see Microsoft work on fixing the bugs in Vista before pushing a new operating system on consumers. If the next year release is in fact going to be the full version of Windows, pushing the deadline 2 years ahead of its scheduled date may result in having the same problems attributed to Vista. And if that happens, i’ll be pulling for Apple or Linux to step up in Microsoft’s place.
